Sharon Wadsworth-Smith
Sharon has been painting her way across Canada throughout her over 50-year painting career. From the city of her birth in Regina Saskatchewan to Vancouver where she received her formal arts education. Then to the Toronto area where she settled for over 30 years in the beautiful countryside north of Caledon. She always wanted to live near water and now lives on the South Shore of Nova Scotia where the influences of the ocean and rocky shores have infused her painting with textures and the colours of the coast.
Sharon’s work is widely collected and she has received numerous awards including Established Artist of the Year Award in her former homeland of Ontario and 2018 McMichael Gallery Plein Air Painting Award.
“I prefer to express my art with loose brush strokes and palette knife work. It’s wonderful to paint what you see but much more exciting to paint what you feel.”
